Allaah Most High says in the Glorious Qur’aan:
“So, ask the people
(having the knowledge) of the message, if you do not know.” -
21:7
The Prophet (Sallallahu ‘Alayhi wa Sallam) has been reported to have
said:
“A good question is half of knowledge” (Bayhaqi)
Ibraheem (‘alayhis salaam), the friend of Allaah,
said:
“All branches of knowledge are like locks, and the keys to these
locks are questions.”
Abu Dardaa (radhiallaahu ‘anhu) has been
reported to have said:
“Verily, in my opinion, it is better to learn about
one Mas’alah (problem of Fiqh), than to spend the entire night in worship.” (Targheeb)
The verse of the Qur’aan mentioned above clearly states, that
those who are not acquainted with the rules of Shari’ah should seek knowledge
from the true scholars of Islam, and then follow them accordingly.
In
this day and age, we are encountering many contemporary issues, unfamiliar
sects, and confusing situations, which have caused immense strain upon the Ummah
(Muslim Nation). At present, it seems as though every tenth individual is
voicing his own opinion in a quest to suit himself, instead of following the
classical way of Islam, that has been passed on to us, over generations, from
the pious predecessors. Consequently, even those who seek authentic and
uncontaminated answers are left perplexed.
These circumstances have caused a
number of Muslims to digress. While some refer to books and literature that are
at times unreliable or erroneous, others seek guidance from individuals who are
neither qualified nor competent to answer their queries. As a result, some
Muslims are being led astray from the true understanding of
Islam.
Abdullaah ibn ‘Amr (radhiallaahu ‘anhu) narrates: I heard the
Prophet (Sallallahu ‘Alayhi wa Sallam) saying: “Allaah will not seize
knowledge (from earth) in a manner that He will merely snatch it away from
people. But He will seize knowledge by claiming the souls of the Ulamaa (learned
ones). Until a time will come when no (true) scholar will remain, and people
will take on ignorant leaders, who will be asked questions, upon which they will
pass verdicts without possessing knowledge. Thus they themselves will wander
astray, and (at the same time) they shall lead others astray” (Bukhaari,
Muslim)
The majority of the Ummah (Muslim Nation) is not practising; but
Alhamdulillaah, they still have a concern for religion and often raise questions
in their minds as to whether or not something is permissible.
Situations
and issues which concern acts of worship, food, work and life in general, are
daily being questioned, but unfortunately, the majority of the Ummah either do
not have access to qualified scholars, do not approach the qualified scholars or
are too shy or occupied to put their queries forward. The Prophet (sallallaahu
'alayhi wa sallam) said, "Is not the cure for faltering, to question?" (Abu Dawud, Ibn Majah)
With this situation in mind, we provide a service
which will insha-Allaah help the Ummah ask questions at the comfort of their
homes. At the same time, our service will aid in distinguishing right from
wrong, and in building a link and bond with qualified scholars.
Our panel
consists of male and female scholars, who are sincere, experienced and qualified
in the field of Islamic knowledge. Our efforts and contribution is directed
towards helping the Ummah, so that we may all lead a pious and sincere life, and
ultimately please our Creator and Cherisher Allaah (may He be pleased with us
all).
We pray that Allaah, The All Knowing and Most Wise, blesses us with
divine assistance in our aim to help the Ummah (Muslim Nation) in understanding
the classical, pure and pristine Islam and living their lives according to the
way of the beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Ameen.
